Vitamin D – knowledge among people about its properties and effects based on anonymous surveys

Introduction: Vitamin D is produced under the influence of solar radiation. It can also be supplied in food or dietary supplements. The assessment total serum 25(OH)D widely accepted as an indicator vitamin concentration and observation population regarding hypovitaminosis recommendations supplementation. In fact, definition deficiency still a contentious issue, however, epidemiological data indicate that widespread worldwide, including Poland.
 aim study: study was to assess knowledge people about supplementation effects D, its consumed nutrients, which it found, based on anonymous surveys.
 Materials methods: research material collected using online survey April May 2023. obtained results were analyzed verified basis scientific literature statistically processed Microsoft Office Excel.
 Results: 47.3% respondents take supplements with but 76% these do not know dose they are taking. More than half them declare function D3, 70.3% correlate effect cholecalciferol skeletal system. 50.2% eat fish rarely at all. 68.5% claim should supplemented K effective.
 Discussion conclusions: Less preparations containing D. Few full use body multidirectionality. Prevention reintroduced due lifestyle changes, e.g. after COVID-19 pandemy.
